Composite Beings
In this series of thirteen ceramic sculptures, I used different types of clays to create composite beings that I assemble like puzzle pieces. Working with clay allows me to reflect about the biology laws such as the Evolutionary Process and the Biological Robustness, which is the ability of biological systems to maintain their functions against perturbations and uncertainty.
The representation of human-plant-animal mythological creatures serves me in questioning the forms of representation linked to cultural hybridity and the diversity of species. I am, above all, interested in the interconnectivity of all living beings; in a representation of multi-intelligent creatures resulting from a crossbreeding that transcends time and borders.
